Youth Villages mourns the loss of Atlanta’s Lewis G. Holland, board member and champion for children

October 11, 2011

Lewis G. Holland Sr.

Lewis G. Holland Sr., a longtime civic leader in Atlanta and a member of Youth Villages’ board of directors, died Oct. 5. He was 75.

Mr. Holland supported the Inner Harbour Campus just outside Atlanta for many years and joined our board when Youth Villages merged with Inner Harbour in 2009.

“Lewis Holland was a true champion for our country’s most vulnerable children. He cared deeply about the children and families we help at Youth Villages, and his undaunted passion for our work was clear in the way he was personally involved in our mission. We are very grateful to him for his dedicated service to children and young people and to our organization. Youth Villages would not be the organization it is today without his guidance and involvement.” — Patrick W. Lawler, Youth Villages CEO

My Father loved Youth Villages and was very proud of their amazing work with families. Thank you for giving him the opportunity to be a part of an incredible program.

Mr. Holland will be greatly missed – he was a strong supporter of our efforts in Atlanta, and we will miss his guidance, support, and hospitality.
